Small Garden Zone

Monday, March 7th, 2011

Blogger James is a self-employed artist based in South West Scotland and is the latest donor to our plant fund. His blog Small Garden Zone not only documents his attempts to get the most out of a small space but is an interesting garden diary with a particular emphasis on growing fruit, veggies and herbs. Small Garden Zone has only been online for a few months but is already promising to be a valuable resource for anyone growing in a real, less than ideal garden with all the challenges that entails. You’ll also find links to garden supplies used and recommended by James. The blog really is worth a look for anyone interested in real gardening in an authentic setting.

Thanks again to James for his kind donation.

Last February Dig

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

We meet for the last dig of February at 11:30am on Saturday 26th Feb at the side entrance of St Mungos Primary, Townhead on the lane that connects Stirling Rd to Parson St. As well as admiring all the early bulbs which are just coming into bloom, we’ll be continuing work on the site in preparation for the arrival of spring. If you haven’t been up in a while it’s well worth a look as there are over thirteen thousand spring and summer bulbs of various kinds set to bloom over the coming months.

As ever bring yourself, a small fork or trowel, a pair of gardening gloves and any plants you’d like to add to what will hopefully be a colourful display. If you haven’t been along to the site before or you have any questions, please get in touch via email.

Quick Guerrilla Survey

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

To help us plan for 2011 it would be great if everyone would take a minute or two to answer a few questions regarding guerrilla gardening. It’s quite painless, completely anonymous and would be very helpful to us.
