First dig of the New Year! We were disappointed to note that more plants have been nicked but delighted to find ourselves recipients of an anonymous donation of pricey bulbs by a mysterious benefactor.

As ever we had plenty litter to clear with a discarded syringe providing a bit of urban grit amongst the children’s crisp packets.  Well at least I hope the discarded packets belonged to children, adults dropping litter is bad enough but to find out anyone over the age of ten actually eats ‘Transform-a-snaks’ is terrifying*.  Who knew the weegie diet could find new depths to plummet?

Deceived by the fairly mild tempreature we decided to risk planting a few shrubs, some polyanthus and an assortment of mysterious 50p plants from B&Q. One can only hope they don’t mind a bit of snow!

I myself cannot wait for spring as I’m falling over mountains of summer bulbs, seeds, sprouting  busy lizzies and a tender but lovely peanut butter plant at home.

If you’d like to join us on future digs here’s this year’s schedule.

*Unless they have a really really bad hangover and even then it shouldn’t be done in public.
