As I mentioned in an earlier post there is lots to look forward to in 2009. This post offers a taste of what’s in store.

The time and place for this meet are yet to be decided so keep an eye on this page for updates and start stockpiling nasturtium seeds in preparation.

25th April 2009- Townhead dig, usual time and place.

1st May 2009 -International Sunflower Day. Meeting place etc still to be decided and will be announced nearer the time. In the meantime find out more about Sunflower Day here and here.

This is just a taste of what’s to come. They’ll also be digs arranged throughout the year for other sites and more than a few evening digs when the light nights come in.

Thanks to all who helped out in 2008. We hope to see you all again in 2009.

Pupils from two south side schools, Shawlands Academy and Hutchesons’ Grammar are joining forces this term to map green spaces in the area covered by Langside, Battlefield and Strathbungo Community Council. We aim to identify, map and photograph fragile or neglected zones and then, in partnership with the Council, help with planting and restoration. If we can help with some of your plans for 2009 we shall; if you want to find out more about our map project, please let us know.
